Map Guide

Welcome to PassOpus

PassOpus organizes public content into Opuses — structured collections of information, media and messages that can be explored by place.

Explore the Map

The map provides a geographic path into PassOpus. Instead of relying on a personalized feed to determine what you see, you can explore public content by moving from the country to a state, county, city and ultimately an Opus.

Why Location Matters

Place creates context and focuses discovery. A subject with national reach can also have meaning within a particular state, county or community. PassOpus preserves that geographic context while keeping public content accessible from anywhere.

Public Content Beyond a Timeline

Social media can lead people to an Opus, while PassOpus provides a more organized public destination for exploring the subject. Use the map to begin narrowing your geographic focus.

Next: Select a state on the map.

Map Guide

Explore the State

At the state level, the map narrows discovery to counties, cities and the Opuses associated with them. You can continue exploring geographically or search for something specific.

Map Navigation and Search

Map navigation lets you explore places visually. Search provides a more direct path when you already know the individual, organization, business or social cause you are looking for.

Understanding the Map

Map pins help distinguish the kinds of Opuses available within a community. A default city Opus provides a starting point for exploration, while subscriber Opuses represent individuals, organizations or businesses. Village Opuses organize public content around community interests and social causes.

Public Discovery

PassOpus gives public content geographic context without requiring a private feed or social-network account. You decide where to explore and what to open.

Next: Select a county on the map.

Map Guide

Explore the County

The county level brings discovery closer to individual communities. Cities within the county provide geographic entry points to the Opuses associated with those places.

From Cities to Opuses

A city can contain many kinds of Opuses. The default city Opus provides an immediate public starting point. Subscriber Opuses can represent individuals, organizations and businesses, while Village Opuses focus on community interests and social causes.

Choose How to Discover

You can continue through the map by selecting a city, use search when you know what you are looking for, or follow a direct PassOpus link shared elsewhere on the web or through social media.

The Map as a Local Filter

Moving through the map progressively narrows the geographic context. This makes it possible to explore local public content without depending on a personalized timeline to decide what is relevant.

Next: Select a city on the map.

Map Guide

Explore the City

The city level is where PassOpus becomes most local. The map can connect you with public Opuses associated with this community.

Different Kinds of Opuses

An Opus can represent an individual, organization or business. A default city Opus provides a starting point where no subscriber identity is being viewed, while Village Opuses organize public content around community interests and social causes within the city.

Village Opuses

Village Opuses make local social issues and community interests discoverable by place. The same Village topic can exist in many cities while each local Opus provides geographic context for that community.

OpusNotes and Location

Individual OpusNotes can also carry geographic context when location is relevant to the message. This allows a message within an Opus to relate to a place of its own while remaining part of the larger structured presentation.

Desktop and Mobile

On desktop, the map provides visual geographic navigation alongside the Opus. On mobile, PassOpus uses a simpler location-based Guide so the same public content can be explored without requiring the full map interface.

Next: Select an Opus to begin exploring its content.

Map Guide

You've Reached an Opus

This is a Demo Opus. An Opus is the structured public presentation at the center of PassOpus. Once you enter an Opus, its own navigation becomes the primary way to explore its content.

Menus and Rolopanes

Opus menus organize the subject into meaningful areas. Within them, Rolopanes let you move through supporting information and media without reducing everything to one continuous feed.

OpusNotes

OpusNotes provide individual messages, media or updates within the larger Opus. When location matters to a particular OpusNote, its geographic context can differ from the location of the Opus itself.

OfferBox

The OfferBox provides a dedicated place for supporting information, opportunities or actions associated with the Opus without interrupting its main presentation.

Return to Geographic Discovery

While the Opus is now the focus, geographic discovery remains available. Use the Map Guide or geographic navigation to step back out and explore another place or Opus.

More Than a Feed

PassOpus combines public web access, structured presentation and geographic context. Rather than asking you to follow a timeline chosen for you, an Opus lets you deliberately explore the subject, its supporting content and its relationship to place.

Mobile Guide

Welcome to PassOpus

PassOpus organizes public content into Opuses — structured collections of information, media and messages that can be explored by place.

Explore by Place

Start with a state to narrow your exploration. From there, you can move through counties and cities to discover public content connected with those places.

Find Something Specific

If you already know the individual, organization, business or social cause you are looking for, you can search instead of browsing by place.

Public Content with Context

PassOpus is designed for public discovery without requiring a private feed or social-network account. Social media can lead people to an Opus, while PassOpus gives that content a more organized and lasting public context.

Mobile Guide

Explore the State

You are now exploring at the state level. Choose a county to narrow the geographic area and move closer to local cities and their Opuses.

Search This State

You can also search across the state for an individual, organization, business or social cause without navigating county by county.

Why Location Matters

Location gives public content context. The same subject can have different relevance from one community to another, so PassOpus lets you broaden or narrow discovery geographically while keeping the content publicly accessible.

Mobile Guide

Explore the County

At the county level, discovery becomes more local. Choose a city to explore the public Opuses associated with that community.

Search Across the County

Searching here can help you find an individual, organization, business or social cause anywhere within the county, including in a different city.

Local Discovery without a Feed

PassOpus does not require a personalized timeline to decide what you see. Geography provides the discovery context, and you choose where to explore next.

Mobile Guide

Explore the City

The city level is where PassOpus becomes most local. Here you can explore community topics through Village Opuses or search for specific individuals, organizations and businesses.

Explore Village Opuses

Village Opuses organize public content around community interests and social causes within this city. Choose a topic to explore its local Opus.

Find Someone or Something

Use search when you are looking for a particular individual, organization or business in this city.

Local Content, Public Reach

An Opus can be associated with a particular place while remaining publicly accessible from anywhere. Your own location does not determine which community you can explore.

Mobile Guide

You've Reached an Opus

An Opus is the structured public presentation at the center of PassOpus. Instead of placing everything into one continuous feed, an Opus organizes content so you can choose what to explore.

Explore the Opus

Use its menus and Rolodeck to move among subjects and supporting content. The mobile presentation lets you navigate the same organized material in a format designed for a smaller screen.

OpusNotes

OpusNotes add individual messages, media or updates within the larger Opus. An OpusNote can also have its own geographic context when location is relevant to the message.

OfferBox

The OfferBox provides a dedicated place for supporting information, opportunities or actions associated with the Opus without interrupting its main content.

Location Still Matters

The location shown for an Opus describes the geographic context of its content, not necessarily your current location. You can explore public Opuses in other communities from wherever you are.

Why Create an Opus?

Enter through social media like a human. First beauty & brawn (clickbait), then brains — your Opus.

"I'm a life coach" is not an Opus.
Your Opus shows the real work — structured, sourced, and different from everyone else.
Location adds weight.
A gumbo critique from Louisiana hits harder. So does a housing plan from someone who lives there.
Go for a walk.
Put your content outside the walled gardens of social media so Search — and AI — can see you.
Social causes need local hands.
Manage a city-specific Opus, support your community and gain exposure. 20% of your subscription goes to the cause.

Below, a matrix of 30 social causes, each with their own city Opus — nearly 1 million. You can choose to be Primary Admin for one.
