PassOpus functions like any social media site, under the publisher liabiity protection under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. The good faith moderation protection aspect applies, which is the freedom to remove, restrict or moderate content we find objectionable without losing liabiility protection, even if the content is contitutionally protected. The social cause that we align with, and financially support, act as advisers and contributors - not owners or partners with PassOpus or liable for user content.

Reporting

If the public has reported concerns over a Primary Admin's administration of a social cause opus - through the Reporting feature - it will be the national entity's review and decision to remove the Primary Admin that holds the most sway.

Many social efforts have opposing viewpoints on how best to address the needs of a social cause. If your views differ from those of Judges then it would be best if you suggested a name for a social cause you would like to see on PassOpus.

On desktop views, the information under the OpusInfo button is missing or limited, but that will change when you become Primary Admin and populate the information. The "primary" information will be your information. The mobile view has its own version of this information.

Cross-Opus Contributions

Any PassOpus subscriber can be allowed "Admin" privileges by you as Primary Admin. While there is some risk of responsibility for other people's content, if done wisely this can allow supportive content and updates to the opus and create collaboration across multiple opuses as other Primary Admins can allow you to become an admin on their opuses. Such collaboration is strongly encouraged since it can make it easier to keep a busy opus updated/relevant and adds diversity of perspective.

As mentioned previously, PassOpus remembers the last social cause opus you visited before going to the Create Account page. To change the Create Account page choices for whether to become Primary Admin or to support the social cause with 20% of your monthly subscription, then visit the social cause of your choice before returning to the Create Account page.

Primary or No Primary

On the Create Account page, PassOpus checks whether the social cause you have highlighted (by visisting it) has a Primary Admin; If so, the checkbox option to become Primary Admin is substituted with the option to notify the Primary Admin that you would be interested in helping to admin the social content. You can always choose to direct 20% of your subscription to a social cause network on PassOpus (see home page matrix of causes). This choice cannot be quickly changed. Presently, there is a six month window before you can redirect this contribution, because we want those entities who have promoted PassOpus to benefit.
